Rebound Orthopedics Partners With WSA To Prevent Injuries
Rebound Orthopedics has implemented the Injury Prevention Program exclusively with the Washington Soccer Academy
Goals of the program are to 1) Improve Leg strength and power, 2) attain limb symmetry, 3) increase mean hamstring strength, and 4) to decrease an athlete’s knee land forces.
Results of the training will…
Change jumping and landing mechanics from stiff-legged, wobbly landings to more controlled knee joint actions which provide stability
Improve vertical jump height
Correct imbalances in hamstring and quad strength ratios
Correct side to side leg strength imbalances
Female athletes will decrease their risk for knee injury by 3-4 fold
Rebound trainers and physicians will be attending WSA practices and implementing a four week neuromuscular training program for teams that desire to participate. Rebound will then setup a maintenance/monitoring program and follow the progress of the teams.
In addition to the world class training being provided to the club, athletes with injuries will have preferential scheduling appointments to see Rebound physicians. Wait times to see Rebound physicians will be dramatically reduced (days not weeks).
Rebound has already kicked off the program and is currently working with two WSA teams. Within the next few weeks all WSA coaches will have the opportunity to implement the Rebound training with their team’s.
A section of the WSA website will be dedicated to injury prevention and will be maintained by the trainers and physicians from Rebound.
