“WSA is building a new future for SW Washington Youth Soccer”
The WSA Youth Development Academy is a year round program designed for U9- U10 boys and girls. The YDA is designed for the serious player wanting to develop the skills necessary to compete at a higher level. Our professional coaches and staff will focus on skills development in a fun and competitive atmosphere with training led by SW Washington’s only A licensed coaches Gary Osterhage and Scott Benedetti.
U9 and U10 Boys will be trained by our YDA Youth Director, Scott Benedetti. Scott holds an A license, played with the US Men’s National Team, Portland Timbers and is a graduate of the University of Portland having played under legendary coach Clive Charles.
U9 and U10 Girls will be trained by Gary Osterhage and Dan Macaya. Gary is Director of Coaching for WSA, holds an A license and currently trains players in the women’s professional soccer league, WPS. Gary is a graduate of the University of Portland and played under and later coached with Clive Charles. Dan Macaya is the WSA Director of Technical Training and is one of the top up and coming coaches in the entire metro area.
Advanced Competition League– WSA will form U9 and U10 teams for boys and girls from the Fall YDA and play them Sundays in the Oregon Player Development Program. This is optional and YDA participants may still play with their REC team on Saturday. Your choice and you can do both!
Summer Session 1
8 training sessions Mon/Wed in June leading up to The Clash at the Border Tournament June 25-27th in Camas.
Summer Session 2
8 training sessions Mon/Wed mid July to mid Aug leading to the Chinook Cup Tournament August 12-15th in Tigard, OR.
Fall Session 1
2x week training in Sept and Oct with optional league games on Sundays in the Oregon PDP.
Fall Session 2 & Winter
Indoor soccer 1x week at Clark County Indoor Center. Winter session is futsal.
Cost: After the FREE Spring session, YDA is $80.00 per session. Tournaments and Oregon PDP costs are approximately $40 per event. Uniforms for players participating in tournaments and Oregon PDP are extra.
