Washington Soccer Academy is a part of the Camas Washougal Soccer Club. The purpose for establishment of the Washington Soccer Academy is to provide children within the Vancouver area more opportunities to play competitive soccer. The Club’s primary purpose is to serve the teams within the club and our mission is twofold: First and foremost, the Academy is dedicated to providing the best available coaching and training to its young soccer players.  Through competition, we will create the environment essential for development of the player’s maximum potential.   Our focus is on the early development of fundamental soccer skills upon which all-remaining elements of the game rest.  We will assess each player’s strengths and weaknesses, and through training and competition, help each player maximize his or her skills in all areas of the game. We will strive to make the average player a good player, and the good player an excellent player.  Our goal is to help prepare individuals for higher levels of competition; Regional, National, Olympic Development, High School, Collegiate, and Professional teams. Our second mission is to develop not only the soccer player on the field, but to develop the young person off the field. The Academy will provide its players with an environment where teamwork, democracy, self-reliance and good citizenship are rewarded.   Participants will be encouraged to enjoy the game, utilize their skills to their maximum potential, and to strive for a high level of morals and conduct.  Washington Soccer Academy team members will be encouraged to pass along their acquired skills to younger players.  In this way they will solidify what they have learned through the process of teaching and mature as they accept the responsibility of communicating and transferring their knowledge. This is truly the beauty of the three-tiered soccer club of which we are a part. We will foster a work ethic, which teaches discipline, commitment, and responsibility. Our intent is to develop not only good soccer players but also good citizens, that in the future will have a positive impact on their communities. Washington Soccer Academy will form teams beginning at U-11 composed of committed male and female athletes selected through a competitive try-out process. We will have teams play in the Player Development League (PDL) as well as Division 5 Select teams, for players who are interested in a higher level of competition without the travel and time committment of the PDL Teams. We believe we have much to offer developing male and female soccer players in Vancouver and surrounding communities, and welcome all to try out for our teams.
